Is Shoal a product you can buy today?
Not yet. We're pre-seed and building toward our first Mediterranean pilots in 2027. If you want to be a design partner or an early pilot site, reach out now.
How do the sensors know where they are underwater?
There's no GPS or radio underwater, so nodes position themselves relative to each other and fuse that into one geo-referenced picture. That coordination problem, not the sensor hardware itself, is the core of what we're building.
Do you sell hardware, or a monitoring service?
The plan is a service: Shoal nodes stay resident on-site and monitoring is delivered continuously, priced like a subscription rather than a one-off survey.
Why start with aquaculture instead of oil & gas or offshore wind?
Fish farms need constant, low-cost eyes on net integrity and biofouling, and the stakes of missing damage are immediate. It's the fastest path to a working, continuously-monitored deployment before we scale to larger subsea infrastructure.
How is Abyss funded right now?
Pre-seed and non-dilutive so far. We're building at DTU and SDU in Denmark ahead of Mediterranean deployment.
